Ethical Photography
Capture moments with respect, consent, and responsibility.
Protect the dignity and rights of the people portrayed.
Ethical photography is about capturing images with respect, informed consent, and responsibility toward those portrayed. In my experience, I've had the opportunity to integrate myself into communities where the primary focus is preserving the voice and message of the people photographed with minimal intervention. This involves establishing relationships of trust, respecting the boundaries set by each individual or group, and providing clear information about the use and purpose of the images. My perspective is intersectional and decolonial, meaning that I recognize and challenge the power structures present in the act of photographing, prioritizing autonomy, the diversity of identities, and the unique narratives of each person and community.
